Course Description: This introductory course provides hands-on experience in the world of 3D printing. Participants will learn the basics of 3D design using Tinkercad, understand its capabilities and limitations, and gain practical experience in setting up and managing the 3D printing process. By the end of the session, each participant will have customized a 3D object and witnessed the beginning of its printing process.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Navigate the Tinkercad interface and utilize basic design tools.
- Understand the strengths and limitations of Tinkercad for 3D design.
- Implement basic workarounds for design limitations in Tinkercad.
- Customize a pre-designed 3D object with text or simple design elements.
- Prepare a 3D model for printing using slicing software (basic understanding).
- Understand the key steps involved in the 3D printing process.
- Initiate, monitor, pause, and potentially stop a 3D print.
- Identify common 3D printing failures and potential causes.
- Learn basic techniques for improving print quality.
